On the 31st of March, Room 10 and 3 kind parents boarded a bus and ventured into town the long way. Two other lovely parents joined us there.
When we arrived we were greeted by Grant who works at the Tauranga Art Gallery. He was our guide and told us heaps about Lynley Dodd who is an author. She is known internationally.
We discovered it takes her about one whole year to write each book. She has been writing now for over 4o years and has sold about 9 million copies.
We loved hearing about some of the different stories that she has written and looking at some of her artwork.
She is a very clever lady!
While we were there Grant's dog Spencer came to greet us.
He was very, very friendly and a really lovely looking dog.
If you would like to meet Lynley Dodd and or have her books signed she will be at the Art Gallery on Sunday the 10th of April at 10am.
If your child has told you all about today and you think you would like to visit, you still have time. Lynley Dodd's work is being exhibited from the 5th March to 8th May.
Also there is going to be a Dogs Day Out on Sunday the 17th of April at the Masonic Park in Tauranga. Bring your dog along and make sure you have thought of a Hairy Maclary - style name eg; Schnitzel von Krumm with a very low tum.
We had a fabulous day and will enjoy creating our own Lynley Dodd inspired pictures.
